The problem, according to Terry Eimen, Environmental Health Coordinator for the Ford-Iroquois Public Health Department, is that mosquitoes may also transmit serious and sometimes fatal diseases in humans and their pets.

The Ford-Iroquois Public Health Department is asking for assistance from the public in the collection of dead birds found in Ford and Iroquois counties.

Caregivers from across Ford and Iroquois counties gathered at Creekside Prairie in Cissna Park for a day of respite, education and some tender loving care.

According to Terry Eimen, Environmental Health Coordinator of the agency, 43 food establishments received scores with no deficiencies during the January through March inspection period.   

A Caregiver’s Day Out will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the Cissna Park Community Center at Creekside Prairie in Cissna Park.
