What is APORS?

The acronym APORS stands for Abnormal Pregnancy Outcome Reporting System. A referral is automatically generated from a hospital to the family's local health department following delivery if an infant is premature or if complications during pregnancy existed. The local health department nurse follows up on the development and progress of the infant through assessments and makes necessary referrals for the family as needed.
