Governance

The Ford-Iroquois Public Health Department is governed by an eight member Board of Health. The Public Health Administrator is responsible to the Board and for all actvities and actions of the department.

Public Health Administrator: Douglas Corbett

The department is organized into five separate divisions each with a director and/or coordinator who is responsible for the management of that division.

The Administration and Support Services Division is the administrative branch of the department responsible for human resources, grants management, fiscal management, health education programs, data management, vital statistics,and administrative support.

Financial Coordinator: Cary Hartman

The Environmental Division is the regulatory branch of the department responsible for managing environmental programs to protect the public’s health. Some of these programs include licensing and inspecting food service establishments, wells, septic systems and tanning facilities. The Environmental Division is also responsible for the radon and vector control programs of the agency.

The Maternal Child Health Division is responsible for promoting health and preventing illness of the women and children in the community. The clinical programs of the division include: Immunizations, Family Case Management, Prenatal, WIC, Family planning, Teen Parent Services and the Healthy Families Illinois Program.

The Schools and Community Health Division is responsible for promoting health and preventing disease in the schools and communities within the jurisdiction. Programs of the division include: investigation and control of communicable diseases; cholesterol, diabetes and blood pressure screenings and education, adult immunizations including flu and pneumonia, school nursing services, school programs including dental sealants, dental education, the Eye Spy Program, contraception, sexually transmitted diseases, handwashing and programs regarding puberty.

Community and Schools Health Coordinator: DeeAnn Schippert, RN, BSN

The In-Home Services Division provides services to clients within their homes. Programs of the division include: skilled nursing services, personal care services, occupational and physical therapies, caregiver services, money management, outreach and other senior services.
